I photograph yours
They are archives of the time we spent on this beautiful green earth and the people we spent it with, preserved and handed down.
My approach blends fine art wedding photography with an editorial and documentary eye, so the images feel as true ten years from now as they do the morning after your wedding. Many of my couples choose to shoot on film alongside digital, since the classic, cinematic texture of a 35mm or medium format frame ages the same way memory does.

They bring together families, friends and community, giving rhythm to the human story, and I approach every ceremony with that in mind.
As a documentary wedding photographer in New Orleans, I want you, your family, and your friends to look back on these images, smile, and tell stories.
As someone with a photography background, I think the photos are one of the most important parts of a wedding. As someone who is admittedly hard-to-please, I was really nervous that no one would be able to live up to my expectations, but Whit at New Aera did an incredible job! I normally hate the way I look in pictures, but Whit managed to capture the exact moments and angles that made me (and everyone else) look amazing. He has a great sense of composition and lighting, and his style is very editorial/documentary, which I liked. He captured a lot of little moments before and after the wedding - like me putting on the cake-topper or my brother helping take the decorations down after the guests left - and didn't just focus on the "main event." I love that because those moments were kind of a blur at the time, but the pictures help me remember them just as vividly as the moment I said "I do."

Whit was a delight to work with, he was supportive, flexible, and clear in his communication and thought out process. We had a very DIY wedding and didn’t really know what to expect or how to plan for certain aspects and he really walked us through so that we were able to plan well. He is very skilled at cultivating a relaxed atmosphere and was able to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera, especially those who usually are not at ease being photographed. Whit blended into our community very naturally, getting beautiful shots of candid moments without being intrusive. We felt incredibly lucky to have such a talented artist documenting our day. His work truly reflects the joy, care and love that was present for us. We can't recommend him highly enough.
NORA
Whit was an intuitive and natural part of our wedding. They photographed beautiful moments with friends and took in the stunning nature of our location. So easy to work with and everything went super smoothly!
